Terms of service
The agreement between you and Humansift when you use humansift.com, the free tools or the app. We've kept it short and plain.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using humansift.com, the free tools or the Humansift app (together, "the service"), you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use the service for a company or a client, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for them.
2. Your account
Keep your login details safe and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens in your workspaces, including what the team members you invite do.
3. Sites you connect
Only connect websites, server logs, Cloudflare accounts and Google properties that you own or are authorised to manage. Some features, such as the protection checks, need proof that you control the domain. If you add Humansift's script to a site, you're responsible for telling that site's visitors about it in your own privacy notice, as the law where you operate requires.
4. Your data
The traffic data and Google data from your sites belong to you. You give us permission to process them only to run the service for you, as described in the privacy policy. You can export your reports and delete your sites at any time, and ask us to delete your workspaces or account.
5. Fair use
Please don't:
- use the free tools to scan sites you have no reason to check, or in bulk or by script;
- try to get around rate limits, plan limits or security measures, or to reach data that isn't yours;
- use the service to break the law or anyone's rights, or to attack, overload or disrupt any website, including ours;
- resell or rebrand the service, except through the client reports and client workspaces it offers.
We may limit, suspend or close access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.
6. Early access and plans
Humansift is in early access. During early access the service is free, features may change, and some may be added or removed. Plans and prices will be published before early access ends, and nobody is charged without choosing a paid plan first. Each plan has limits, such as the number of sites and how long request details are kept, shown in the app.
7. How accurate the results are
Humansift sorts traffic using signals such as user agents, published crawler address lists, DNS, networks and browser behaviour. These are strong signals, not certainties: some bots imitate people well, and some people look like bots. Use the results as an informed estimate, and check before acting on anything important, such as blocking a visitor.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or stop parts of the service; if we stop the service entirely, we'll give account holders at least 30 days' notice and a way to export their data.
9. Responsibility
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it (or USD 100 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.
10. Ending
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end these terms if you seriously break them. When an account is closed, we delete its data within 30 days, except what we must keep by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for changes that matter we'll email account holders before they take effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.
